Frequently asked questions

FAQs

How many photographs do we get?

I don’t have a set amount of photographs that you’ll get, and there is definitely no cap on the amount you’ll receive! I will take photographs of everything beautiful throughout the day, and you’ll receive all of the final edited photographs (without the bloopers!). The more there is to photograph, the more photographs you will receive! And generally if you have two photographers on your day you receive more. Typically from a full day of photography you can expect to receive a minimum of 500 photographs with no upper limit.

Do we need to meet you before our wedding?

You don’t need to meet me in person but I do always think its a good idea to get to know each other over a coffee (or tea in my case!) before your wedding day. I am going to be with you or around 99% of your day and I would hate for you to feel like I am a stranger. I absolutely love it when my couples say it was like a friend was photographing their wedding rather than someone they hardly knew. I want you to feel relaxed and super comfortable around me!

If meeting up beforehand proves difficult, I am always up for a Skype or FaceTime chat to get to know each other a bit more and chat about your plans.

Do you do need to visit our venue beforehand?

I generally don't find it necessary to visit venues beforehand, I can get a very good idea of a venue from looking at photos online and I always arrive a little earlier on the day to have scout around and find the best spots. Where I choose to take photos depends on the light on the day, which can vary a lot depending on the time of year you are getting married, the time of the day and the weather.

How much deposit do you require to secure our date?

In order to secure your booking, I require 25% of your package price to be paid when signing your contract. Once both of these are complete your wedding photography is confirmed! The remaining balance is then due by the 1st of the month you get married.

Are you insured?

I am fully insured with both personal indemnity and public liability insurance, and all of my equipment is insured too!

What happens if you get ill?

Well good news is, I have never had to miss a wedding and cancel on a client yet due to being unwell and if I did it would have to be super serious. If it is unfortunate that I fall ill on your wedding day, I have a great network of fabulous photographers both in my area and all around the UK on hand who would be happy to step in on my behalf.

If we choose to book a second shooter, who is it?

My second shooters are other professional wedding photographers who I often work with. They all work in a similar style to me and run their very own successful photography businesses. Due to them being professionals themselves, your second shooter will be booked in between 1-3 months before your wedding day as it is dependant on their availability.

What if your equipment malfunctions on the day?

I always make sure I have backup equipment just in case this happens – I have two cameras and a whole range of lenses, multiple flashguns as well as spare batteries and a bunch of memory cards. So I will always be able to carry on shooting! And also, my camera has dual card slots, which means I have an instant back-up while shooting in case one of my memory cards becomes corrupt. After your wedding day everything is backed up in multiple places so your photos are safe.
